Daily Life

Little ones (2–3 years) 

Our youngest children learn through fun and exploratory play which builds their social skills, communication and independence. Activities are gentle, nurturing and designed to help them feel secure and confident. 

Preschool (3–4 years) 

Our two dedicated preschool days (Tuesday and Wednesday) are designed to support children as they get ready for Reception. We focus on building early literacy and numeracy skills, encouraging independence and self-care, growing social confidence, and developing problem-solving and creativity. 

Children also enjoy visits to Bredon Hancock's Endowed C of E First School and our Woodland Workshop, helping them become familiar with new environments and routines. All of this supports a smooth, happy, and positive transition into primary school. 

Every day is filled with opportunities for learning, discovery and fun.  

• Free play and exploration 
• Circle time, songs and stories 
• Creative activities such as painting, crafting or role play 
• Outdoor play in the field, garden or woodland
• Snack time with healthy choices
• Small‑group learning 
• Music, movement or sensory play
• Quiet time or rest areas for children who need a break 

We use the same routine each morning to help the children settle and get used to their new surroundings. When they arrive, we will support them to: hang their coat on their peg, find their name and put it on the ‘name tree’, take off their shoes and put on slippers, then have a little play until we are ready to have the register together. 

The usuals day will look like: 

08:45 – welcome, registration followed by free play
10:15 - songs, stories and snacks
10.45 - outdoor play
12:15 - lunch box time
12.45 - free play and village outings
2.45 - goodbyes ready for being picked up between 2.50-3.00
