Admissions
Please contact us to book a visit to have a look around our playgroup and have a chat with our team.
Children can start at Playgroup from their second birthday, however we recommend you put your little one’s name on the waiting list to secure your child's place and preferred sessions. Your little one does not need to be potty trained to start with us.
Funding, Fees & additional charges
Funding
We hope to make our provision as accessible as possible by accepting all forms of funding without restrictions on when it can be used:
- 15 universal hours of government funded early education for ALL 3 and 4 year olds, from the term after the child turns 3 - does not require registration.
- 30 hours of government funded early education for children of working families aged 9 months to 4 years old – eligibility code required. Please be aware that eligibility codes should be valid prior to the start of the term in which you wish to claim the funding – cut off dates are 31st August for the Autumn term, 31st December for the Spring term and 31st March for the Sumer term.
- Two year old funding (FRAS) for eligible two year olds receiving some additional forms of government support – FRAS code and eligibility confirmation letter/email required.

Fees & additional charges:
Invoices will be issued on a termly basis, at the beginning of each term, detailing attendance for the term, funding claim and the remaining non-funded hours to be paid as fees:
- NON-Funded hours are charged at £7.65 per hour until the term AFTER the child’s 3rd birthday and £7.15 per hour thereafter from April 2026
- A suggested voluntary donation will be shown on the invoice, equivalent to £1 per 4.25 hour session and £2 per 6.25 hour session attended. This donation will help cover costs that the government funding is not intended to cover, for example enhanced resources for child crafts and activities, business running costs such as telephone/broadband, administration and cleaning expenses. This donation will ensure the sustainability of Playgroup and allow us to maintain the high level of early years education and care that we provide for your child.
- Other fees and charges may arise however these will be for services provided by external companies or for outings e.g. Uniform, Class Photograph, Summer Trip, School Lunches, and will be entirely optional.
We are registered to accept government tax free childcare and private childcare voucher account payments.
Nutrition
We promote healthy eating in line with government guidelines. For lunch our children bring their own lunch boxes (more information provided prior to your little one starting.

FAQs
- Does my child need to be potty trained? Children can start as soon as they are ready after their 2nd birthday, they do not have to be potty trained.
- My child still naps, is this a problem? Nap time for younger children nap time can be accommodated, please let us know if this applies.
- How do I know if my child is ready? We recommend you arrange settling in session for you and child, to discuss this with our experienced staff.
- What should my child bring? Full details are included in our welcome park which you will receive prior to starting with us.
- Will you keep me informed of my child’s progression? Each child has key person, and they will write in your child's communication key moments and thoughts. Parents are welcome to also write in this book. We keep parents informed at the door on drop off and pick up. In addition to this, we complete progress review meetings with parents. We are also always available for a one-to-one chat if needed.
- Does my child need to wear uniform? Bredon Playgroup have a uniform polo and jumper available, this is not compulsory.
- What if my child has an allergy? Please discuss this with us when you visit, most allergies can be accommodated.
